This painting is unique and original and was painted entirely by me. The hull form was compiled from a black and white sketch by Wm. Van de Velde, and the sail form, rigging and background detail were by me.

de Gouden Leeuw of 1665.

De Gouden Leeuw (Golden Lion) of 1665 was built in Amsterdam and was commanded by Cornelius Tromp in the 2nd Anglo-Dutch war. She fought at the Battle of Texel (August 1673). She was broken up in 1686.
