Race bred all alloy engine |
1951 BSA Gold Star DB 350cc BSA made the Gold Star motorcycle at Small Heath in Birmingham between 1938 and 1963. The were notoriously fast in both 348 and 496cc forms, and were hand built. They shared the same size mainshaft, and the 500cc version did have a reputation of shearing the drive side mainshaft. The engine was a development of the Company’s M24 with the 350cc all alloy model being produced after WW2.
