1930 AJS Model S3 498cc, The name stands for Arthur James Stevens who started motorcycle  manufacture under the name AJS in 1909 in Wolverhampton. The S3 engine was a V twin transversely mounted utilising a primary shaft drive and aluminium cylinder heads and was expensive to develope. They sold slowly, and in 1931 A.J. Stevens went bankrupt and the marque bought out by the Matchless Motorcycle Company of Plumstead, London.

This motorcycle image was taken at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, Birmingham. No registration details are available, leaving the image incomplete. Can anyone out there help me to complete this painting? If you ever owned an AJS 498cc Model S3 preferably a 1931 model, or know of someone who did, and you can remember the registration details, would you please let me know the details, and I will use the number to complete the painting.
